International Aerospace Training Standards

Purpose:

The primary purpose of IATS (International Aerospace Training Standards) is the establishment of improved standards and evaluation of aviation technical training. This group intends to work with existing aerospace organizations to cooperatively define training standards and correlated evaluation processes, with the goal of improving consistency and accountability in accrediting the aviation training community. The results of this work by IATS in cooperation with aerospace organizations will serve the needs of the worldwide aviation industry in providing consistently trained technicians in the interest of increased aviation safety.

Mission:

To establish an international aviation technical training standard.

Goals:

• Strengthen relationships between all aviation training organizations.
• Promote aviation careers in all educational levels.
• Provide IATS certification to qualified individuals.
• Develop an improved, accountable, and consistent aviation training standard.
• Accredit military training to the IATS standard.
• Develop quality control and audit processes in accordance with aviation regulations.
• Increase accountability of aviation training organizations.
